February Meeting – Feb 10, 2008

Meeting Began: 6:50 p.m.

Those Present: Diane Hundley, Cherryl Cox & Steve Slack.  Rick Gibson, Don Mallonee, Monty Sowder, & Mike Welty not present.

President: 

  • Cherryl provided an update regarding Patrick Lucas and is going to write a letter to Mr. Lucas regarding employment status and garnishment of wages
  • Cherryl also asked about advertising on the BHOA web page and wondered if a smaller ad could be placed on the web page and charge the same amount as the newsletter advertizing – table until March. 
  • BHOA received Dell service contract for the assoc laptop and she will contact Dell for the cost and ask Mike’s input.

Secretary:

  • Meeting schedule reviewed and received for upcoming meetings.

Treasurer: 

  • Rick emailed monthly treasurer’s report. 
  • Thomas’ lien also reviewed and Rick will remove the liens when/if payments are up to date. 
  • Projects to spend money on were reviewed.  Cherryl made a motion to use funds to paint the entire outside wall (instead of half as originally planned) and, in addition, to use any additional funds to purchase 1-2 pieces of playground equipment (playground equipment not to exceed $3,000).  Steve seconded and the motion passed unanimously 3-0.

Collections:

  • No report.

Commons: 

  • Work day is April 26 (dumpster to be provided). 
  • DIANE TO FOLLOW UP regarding city providing a dumpster free of charge for cleanup/work day.

Arch Committee:

  • No report. 
  • 9505 W Ryan Court has a dog kennel in the backyard

Pool Committee:

  • Cherryl received a new Aquasizers pool contract and the new contract has increases and new options from last year – chemicals increased in price, pool opening and closing increased in cost, and a new treatment option to help reduce illness-causing germs (also offer bug & weed management).  DISCUSS POOL CONTRACT AT MARCH MEETING.

New Business:

  • Steve noted that several street signs in Bradford are missing and STEVE WILL FOLLOW UP WITH CITY MAINTENANCE.
  • 2831 N Keith – problem with rip rap rock being thrown in the lake by children
