Annual Meeting Review

December 9th, 2009

The annual meeting in October was attended by at least 30 households.  The current board (see the board members page for a list of names) was retained.  We want to thank you all for your attendance.  We appreciate your help in dealing with issues concerning the pool, playground, commons, trees and drainage.  The trees have been trimmed and you will continue to see changes on this issue as the evergreen trees are removed and/or replaced with other trees.  We are currently taking bids for new landscaping contractors and hope to have a new company soon.  We hope to choose a company that will help us with some of the drainage issues we have around the lakes.

We are getting a bid for pool lounge chairs and hope to have those in by the time the pool is open this summer.

2010budgetgraphAt the meeting we asked for help with the treasurer position and we were offered help by several neighbors.  We appointed Jennifer Stiles to the position of Treasurer for 2010.

Website Design Changes

November 11th, 2009

The Bradford Homeowners Association website went through some design changes.  Don’t worry, all the same information can be found on our new design, it just looks a little different.  Why not browse around and see what is all here.  If you would like you can send us your comments by selecting the Comments link on the right.

Lakes and Commons

October 29th, 2009

Taking care of the lakes and commons takes a lot of work and not just from the landscaping/mowing company. Below are some tips for keeping our lakes clean and can also help with common areas.

  1. Pick up after your pets.
  2. Use commercial car washes. They are more efficient and have mud traps that catch oil and sediment.
  3. Maintain your vehicles so that there are no leaks of automotive fluids such as oil, antifreeze and fuels.
  4. When working on the lawn or in the garden:

*Follow the label directions on insecticides very carefully.
*Use compost and natural fertilizers pesticides when you can.
             *Use slow release fertilizers
*Pull weeds by hand as an alternative to chemicals.
*Don’t apply products if rain is predicted.

Pet waste has recently been a complaint in several areas around the neighborhood. There are common areas between neighborhoods where people are allowing their pets to run free and not picking up after them. These areas are used by children and families to play. Please be courteous and clean up after all pets.

The entrances have also seen a lot of trash and debris that needs to be picked up. Cleaning up these areas is everyone’s responsibility. Help keep Bradford Beautiful!
